680 compact radiators contribute to a pleasant working climate in Europa-Center Finkenwerder (ATP II)

14,000 m² office space

The technological competence of the Finkenwerder site has been continuously developed over the past decades. Service providers specialising in aerospace are pushing into the neighbourhood and engineering partners of EADS and Airbus are looking for more customer proximity. The 14,000 m² of offices, along with the industrial halls and a multi-storey car park, serve as a place of cooperation.

The building complex is situated on the Rüsch peninsula. The immediate proximity to the factory premises, synergy effects and optimal connection to the data infrastructure are obvious advantages for the tenants but there is more. The layout of the building and its furnishings are fully tailored to its use with open plan as well as individual offices, a central reception, external secretarial services, guest workplaces and a conference area.

Green building standards

In addition to the consistent functionality, the ecological aspect has a high priority for the investor. Therefore, the office building was developed according to the most modern and environmentally friendly green building standards. As a member of the German Sustainable Building Council, the Europa-Center was constructed with special consideration of sustainable aspects.

Durable building materials and products, the integration of renewable energy and low ancillary costs are relevant project components. Heat pumps, concrete core activation and building component temperature control contribute to optimal energy efficiency. A well-balanced room climate and a healthy working environment are therefore among the key features of this building.

Ramo Ventil Compact radiators ensure high thermal efficiency

In addition to the underfloor heating, panel radiators were selected to efficiently heat the Europa-Center as they ensure high thermal efficiency with fast response times to a wide range of temperature requirements. Especially in everyday working life, it’s important for the radiators to perform well so that each room can be controlled individually and is geared to personal user behaviour.

Depending on the individual physical condition of the staff, the number of occupants and the area, the radiators guarantee a high level of comfort as the heat is distributed immediately, silently and evenly. Within a few minutes, the temperature reaches a uniform level - from floor to ceiling in each individual room. This solution avoids overheated rooms, is virtually maintenance-free and reduces energy costs - especially since office spaces are heated differently on weekdays than on weekends.

During the sampling, the Ramo Ventil Compact radiator convinced the client immediately. The product is not only of high quality, but is also very stylish. The workmanship and design speak for themselves, as do the finely profiled flat fronts in the standard colour RAL 9016 Traffic White. The particularly easy-to-clean surface is another advantage. A valve set integrated as standard and the short connections from below enable a practically invisible connection. In the ATP II, the Purmo Ramo Ventil Compact radiators are connected to a conventional gas condensing boiler. This secondary heating circuit allows a system temperature of 55/45/20°C.

Ramo Ventil Compact radiators: more than just a utensil

The Ramo Ventil Compact radiator (overall height: 600 millimetres, overall length: 800 millimetres) is more than just a useful object in the ATP II. The fact that the heat emitter blends into the overall architectural appearance was an important criterion. When developing the floor plan, great importance was attached to space-efficient and flexible room profiles.

To allow the layout to be completed according to the tenant's wishes, the radiators were fitted exclusively to the outer walls. In order to ensure a variable interior layout, the grid body of the façade was used as orientation during installation. Partition walls can be inserted or removed in the offices without any hassle in case of architectural changes.



The installation of a total of 680 Ramo Ventil Compact radiators has been spread over six floors. This project shows that flat panel radiators are increasingly establishing themselves as a high-quality counterpart to conventional profiled compact radiators.
